Dr. Charles Jackson has four degrees in science and education (EdD Sci Ed, Univ of VA, 1994; MS Enviro Bio, George Mason Univ; MEd Sci Ed, GMU; BS Bio, GMU). From 1980 to 2002, he taught secondary school sciences 11 years, then college biology and chemistry 6 years, and then teacher education classes 6 yrs in VA, MD, VT and TN. In 2003, Dr. Jackson founded Points of Origins Ministries and began teaching, speaking, and debating in creation science education. His emphasis has been in making the case for the literal interpretation of the Scriptural accounts as being both scientifically and historically true, and indeed eminently superior in their accuracy, compared to secular sources referencing the same topics. As a former youth pastor and schoolteacher, the work of “Dr. J” has been primarily focused toward Christian youth. Keenly interested in the liberation of Bible-believing college students, from the delusion that their faith has been refuted by modern scientific understandings, Dr. J has crusaded against evolutionary dogma on college campuses across the mainland United States, and also in Venezuela and Peru. He has presented creation science instruction to kindergarteners, to church congregations and youth groups, to both secular and Christian high school and college faculties, to student assemblies from elementary through high school, and to Christian groups on many college campuses. He has also defeated many professors and grad students in debates on topics of the evolutionary dogma, all to the glory of God, and to the truth of His Word. About the Speaker:
Dr Carter was converted to Christ at an early age, but did not know what to do with the theory of evolution. He always knew what he wanted to believe, but had no way to express what he was thinking and no evidence to support his views. In his freshman year of college, he was exposed to the information for creation for the first time and soon after adopted it as his modus operandi. He says he felt a tremendous joy when he realized his science and his religion were no longer at odds. This joy (and, he says, Creation magazine and the Journal of Creation) enabled him to get through the in-depth evolutionary training of his undergraduate and graduate programs with his faith intact.

He obtained a BS in Applied Biology from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 1992. He then spent four years teaching high school biology, chemistry, physics and electronics before going to the University of Miami to obtain his PhD in Marine Biology. He successfully completed this program in 2003 with a dissertation on “Cnidarian Fluorescent Proteins.” While in Miami, he studied the genetics of pigmentation in corals and other invertebrates, designed and built an aquaculture facility for Caribbean corals, performed well over 500 SCUBA dives, many of them at night, and licensed a spin-off product of his research (a patented fluorescent protein) to a biotech company. Rick Phillips is Senior Minister at Second Presbyterian Church in Greenville, SC. This message is Session 4 of 5 from Bethlehem Bible Church's Conference Series held on November 5 & 6, 2010 at Bethlehem Bible Church in West Boylston, MA.



Richard Davis Phillips became the twelfth Senior Minister of the Second Presbyterian Church of Greenville in July, 2007.


He came to faith in Jesus Christ at age 30, surrendering his life to the Savior in response to the preaching of God’s Word. He soon was leading evangelistic Bible studies at the college where he was teaching and, after a few years, received God’s call to enter the gospel ministry. He attended Westminster Theological Seminary in Philadelphia, PA and after graduation joined the pastoral staff of the church where he came to faith, Tenth Presbyterian Church of Philadelphia, PA. There, Rick was mentored by the well-known Bible teacher, Dr. James Montgomery Boice, and began his calling as a weekly preacher of God’s Word. After serving at Tenth Presbyterian from 1995-2002, Dr. Phillips accepted the call to be Senior Minister of First Presbyterian Church of Coral Springs, FL. After five years there, he moved to Greenville to serve our church in 2007.


Dr. Phillips describes his ministry as centering on three “P”s: preaching, praying, and pastoring. He is devoted to expository preaching, which is the teaching of whole books of the Bible week-by-week. His ministry is widely heard on the radio and the internet and Dr. Phillips is frequently called upon to speak at conferences on the Bible and Reformed theology. He further serves the church by authoring books, with over twenty-five currently in print. Among his many activities, he serves on the board and council of the Alliance of Confessing Evangelicals, the council of The Gospel Coalition, and the board of trustees of Westminster Theological Seminary. Together with Philip Graham Ryken, he is series coeditor of the Reformed Expository Commentary series. In addition to the Master of Divinity degree from Westminster Theological Seminary, Dr. Phillips holds degrees from Greenville Presbyterian Theological Seminary (Doctor of Divinity), the University of Pennsylvania (M.B.A.) and the University of Michigan (B.A.).

Antibiblical Teachings of BioLogos - Theistic Evolution - by Ken Ham

Watch video from Ken Ham’s recent talk, where he exposes some of the antibiblical teaching of BioLogos.

Ham provides video clips where supposed Christian scholars Peter Enns, N.T. Wright, Greg Boyd and others say that we should ignore the first few chapters of Genesis in order to "reconcile faith with science." And they all claim Adam and Eve were not real people.

They obviously reject the authority of scripture, reject good science and are very dangerous to the Christian community.

Did God use evolution to create? - Creation Magazine Live

Many Christians believe that God may have used evolutionary processes to create. This episode summarizes some of the serious problems that arise in trying to fit evolution with Genesis that even atheists can see. Although evolution does fit with many religions (atheism, for example) it cannot be made to fit with Christianity.

Hosts Richard Fangrad and Calvin Smith of CMI-Canada discuss and summarize the faith-building information found in Creation magazine. Creation magazine has been changing lives and building the faith of Christians in more than 140 countries for more than 30 years. Each issue contains dozens of articles (many by scientists) that refute evolution and support the Bible's account of creation.

Kent Hovind Debate vs Theistic Evolutionist John D. Callahan

Genesis: History or Myth? was the topic when well-known creationist Dr. Kent Hovind (Creation Science Evangelism), with over 90 debates to his credit, took on theistic evolutionist John D. Callahan, president of Faith & Reason Ministries. Callahan accepted Hovind's evolution offer in an open letter: $250,000 Evolution Challenge Accepted! Dr. Hovind responded to this letter during his radio show 8-26-04, and he also comments on biology and astronomy issues, politics, ministry, and other personalities in evolution and creationism (see link 1 or link 2, 5.34 Meg, 44:29 minutes).

The Debate took place at Faith Baptist Church and Schools, 7644 Farralone Avenue, Canoga Park, CA 91304, on Sunday December 5, 2004 from 3:30 to 5p. The staffs of both Faith Baptist and Creation Science Evangelism were very helpful and pleasant, specifically Dr. Roland Rasmussen, Sr. (pastor), Tim Rasmussen (co-pastor), Roland Rasmussen, Jr. (cameras), Charlie Misseijer (moderator), Gil Machado (Fox News, cameras), Brent Henman (self, cameras), Arthur K. (sound), Jeff Schroeder (CSE), Jonathan Sampson (CSE), "DJ" (CSE), Kent Andrew (CSE), and of course, Dr. Kent Hovind (CSE).

In a series of card questions from the audience, Hovind took the position that the Bible is inerrant and scientifically accurate, contrary to view of public education and the scientific establishment. Callahan contended that the Bible should be viewed as an historic work and weighed against accepted science (the Big Bang and Darwinian biological evolution). Both Hovind and Callahan argued from a scientific and philosophical perspective.

Hovind stated that star formation has not been observed and violates the known laws of physics. Callahan countered that star formation is possible and has been observed with space-based infrared and optical telescopes. Further, Callahan pointed out that it takes at least 1 million years for a star to explode (supernova, see The Most Massive Stars). Although both Hovind and Callahan recognized the vastness of the universe, Hovind denied the possibility of aliens and Callahan said they probably exist.

Hovind discredited the fossil record and radiometric dating, in contrast to Callahan's emphasis on their great importance. Both Hovind and Callahan agreed that dogs have descended from wolves over the last several thousand years. However, Hovind asserted that a dog is still a dog. Callahan, on the other hand, maintained that the great variety of dogs (species and breeds) follows biological evolution. Callahan also alleged that the races of man is an example of microevolution, while Hovind believes the races are most likely explained Biblically via the story of the Tower of Babel.

Hovind said symbiotic relationships refute evolution. (How could things possibly evolve together?!) Callahan mentioned that tusk-less elephants are evolving because hunters do not shoot them (no ivory). In other words there is a symbiotic, evolutionary relationship between man and elephants (and dogs and HIV, etc.). Hovind also supported the idea that the 2nd law of thermodynamics prevents evolution. Callahan said it is a law of physics that does not prevent evolution or increases in complexity, but Callahan also stated entropy will increase and life will die, as stars burn out.

Hovind said Hitler used evolution to justify his actions. Callahan replied that Hitler is not evolution just as the Inquisition is not Christianity and that Hitler's misuse of evolution doesn't mean evolution is false. Hovind made the analogy of the scientific establishment with the USSR. Callahan retorted that this is by no means the USSR and the scientific validity of evolution has been consistently upheld by the courts (with rare exceptions).

Hovind and Callahan affirmed the roles of God, His goodness, Jesus as Lord and Savior, Satan, and man. There was a strong disagreement as to whether Jesus took the Creation Story literally (see What Jesus Said About the Creation Story and the Flood). Hovind declared that God would not use the evil process of evolution (suffering and death of animals and man) to create the world. Callahan acknowledged such suffering but asserted that the perversion of the universe was caused by the fall of Satan and his angels before the Big Bang, 13.7 billion years ago (see Chaos).
