Fossil Record - A Problem for Evolution - Dr. John Morris

Evolution relies on, depends on, and believes in the "evolutionary story" of the fossil record. Several key facts punch holes in that foundation—the extreme rarity of transitional forms, stasis in the record, sudden appearance of complex animal and plant forms, and gaps between species. Discuss the supposed origin of fish, bats, fleas, flies, birds, dragonflies, marine reptiles, whales, and finally humans. Compare the evolutionary scenario to the creation scenario in which each type was created by a supreme Creator separately and fully formed, just as it is found in the fossil record. Conclude with a summary of the real fossil record and its record of death and extinction.

This video file is a 60 minute seminar by John Morris that was recorded during the Seattle Creation Conference, October 2010.

Dinosaurs - The Lost World of the Bible - Chris Ashcraft

Dinosaurs have inspired countless myths and legends, but where do the facts meet with the Bible? Paleontologists assert that dinosaurs went extinct 65 million years ago, long before humans ever walked the Earth. But, this view is in stark contrast to the creation account in Genesis, which states the both humans and land animals were created on the same day.

This presentation will provide a summary of the naturalist perspective of dinosaurs, and then look to the Bible for insight into their true history. Are dinosaurs mentioned in the Bible? Were they also placed on Noah's ark? If so, why are they now extinct? These and other key issues will be answered in this popular talk.

This video file is a 60 minute seminar by Chris Ashcraft that was recorded during the Seattle Creation Conference,October 2010.

Cosmology - Explaining the Universe - Dr. John Byl

There is a huge gap between cosmological data and theory. Many different cosmologies can explain the same data. Cosmology needs presuppositions, many of which are unverifiable. We examine a number of ancient, Big Bang, and creationist models. Although a cosmological model may have serious short-comings, any favored cosmology can be saved by ad hoc devices. Ultimately, cosmological models are assessed in terms of one's worldview. A Biblical cosmology differs on the nature of reality, origins and eschatology.

This video file is a 60 minute seminar by John Byl that was recorded during the Seattle Creation Conference October 2010.

Origins - Center of the Universe with Dr. Russell Humphreys

Over the last few decades, new evidence has surfaced that restores man to a central place in God's universe. Astronomers have confirmed that numerical values of galaxy redshifts are 'quantized', tending to fall into distinct groups. According to Hubble's law, redshifts are proportional to the distances of the galaxies from us. Then it would be the distances themselves that fall into groups. That would mean the galaxies tend to be grouped into (conceptual) spherical shells concentric around our home galaxy, the Milky Way. The shells turn out to be on the order of a million light years apart. The groups of redshifts would be distinct from each other only if our viewing location is less than a million light years from the centre. The odds for the Earth having such a unique position in the cosmos by accident are less than one in a trillion. Since big bang theorists presuppose the cosmos has naturalistic origins and cannot have a unique centre, they have sought other explanations, without notable success so far. Thus, redshift quantization is evidence (1) against the big bang theory, and (2) for a galactocentric cosmology, such as one by Robert Gentry or the one in Dr. Humphreys' book, Starlight and Time

See more of Russell's paper, "Our galaxy is the center of the universe, 'quantized' red shifts show"

Biography

Dr Humphreys was awarded his Ph.D. in physics from Louisiana State University in 1972, by which time he was a fully convinced creationist. For the next 6 years he worked in the High Voltage Laboratory of General Electric Company, designing and inventing equipment and researching high-voltage phenomena. While there, he received a U.S. patent and one of Industrial Research Magazine's IR-100 awards.

Beginning in 1979 he worked for Sandia National Laboratories (New Mexico) in nuclear physics, geophysics, pulsed-power research, and theoretical atomic and nuclear physics. In 1985, he began working with Sandia's 'Particle Beam Fusion Project', and was co-inventor of special laser-triggered 'Rimfire' high-voltage switches, now coming into wider use.

The last few years at Sandia had seen greater emphasis on theoretical nuclear physics and radiation hydrodynamics in an effort to help produce the world's first lab-scale thermonuclear fusion. Besides gaining another U.S. patent, Dr Humphreys has been given two awards from Sandia, including an Award for Excellence for contributions to light ion-fusion target theory.

Education
B.S., Duke University, Durham, NC, 1963

Publications
Dr Humphreys has published some 20 papers in secular scientific journals, as well as many creationist technical papers. He is also the author of Starlight and Time, in which he proposes a model that the universe may only be thousands of years old even though light from distant stars appears to have taken billions of years to reach Earth. He is also author of "Evidences for a Young World."

Young Earth vs Old Earth Debate - Ken Ham & Jason Lisle of Answers in Genesis vs Hugh Ross of Reasons to Believe & Walter Kaiser

Ken Ham, Answers in Genesis president, is perhaps the most widely recognized creation-apologist in the world today. He and AiG astrophysicist Dr. Jason Lisle engage Drs.Hugh Ross (Reasons to Believe) and Walt Kaiser (president of Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary), both of whom are proponents of an old earth, local-flood view of Bible interpretation. In this eye-opening debate, well-mannered disagreement is punctuated by intriguing confrontations as these four Christian leaders communicate their views. Ham and Lisle implore Ross and Kaiser to accept the Genesis account of history as written, while Ross and Kaiser argue for their view that the first chapters of Genesis are more symbolism than history. This specially prepared version, produced by AiG, features the exact programs as edited and broadcast by the John Ankerberg TV ministry.

Featured speakers
Ken Ham, president and founder of Answers in Genesis
Dr. Jason Lisle, researcher and speaker for Answers in Genesis
Dr. Hugh Ross, president and founder of Reasons to Believe
Dr. Walt Kaiser, former president of Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary
