Big Bang Cosmology is a Fake (and I can prove it) - Dr. Charles Jackson

Dr. Charles Jackson reveals the current known problems with the Big Bang theory and why it is disingenuous to continue to teach it without talking about these issues.

Dr. Charles Jackson - Creation Truth Foundation

Dr J Dr. Charles Jackson has four degrees in science and education (EdD Sci Ed, Univ of VA, 1994; MS Enviro Bio, George Mason Univ; MEd Sci Ed, GMU; BS Bio, GMU). From 1980 to 2002, he taught secondary school sciences 11 years, then college biology and chemistry 6 years, and then teacher education classes 6 yrs in VA, MD, VT and TN. In 2003, Dr. Jackson founded Points of Origins Ministries and began teaching, speaking, and debating in creation science education. His emphasis has been in making the case for the literal interpretation of the Scriptural accounts as being both scientifically and historically true, and indeed eminently superior in their accuracy, compared to secular sources referencing the same topics. As a former youth pastor and schoolteacher, the work of “Dr. J” has been primarily focused toward Christian youth. Keenly interested in the liberation of Bible-believing college students, from the delusion that their faith has been refuted by modern scientific understandings, Dr. J has crusaded against evolutionary dogma on college campuses across the mainland United States, and also in Venezuela and Peru. He has presented creation science instruction to kindergarteners, to church congregations and youth groups, to both secular and Christian high school and college faculties, to student assemblies from elementary through high school, and to Christian groups on many college campuses. He has also defeated many professors and grad students in debates on topics of the evolutionary dogma, all to the glory of God, and to the truth of His Word. The secret to the success of Dr. J’s ministry has not merely been the god-given gifts of academic and communication skills, but an ultimate dependence upon the Spirit of God, while debating the issues in the public forum. “If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God.” James 1:5 “He that handleth a matter wisely shall find good.” Proverbs 16:20 “For the Holy Ghost shall teach you in the same hour what ye ought to say.” Luke 12:12

Our Created Universe – Spike Psarris at RMCF

Spike PsarrisFor their November 14, 2014 meeting, Rocky Mountain Creation Fellowship hosted noted author Spike Psarris, who has published articles on astronomy in Creation Magazine and CMI's Technical Journal. Spike was previously an engineer in the United States' military space program. He entered that program as an atheist and an evolutionist. He left it as a creationist and a Christian.

Spike now writes and speaks on Biblical creation, and is the author of the DVD series, "What you aren't being told about astronomy," available at http://www.creationastronomy.com.  The title of his presentation will be: "Our Created Universe," which will emphasize the fact that secular origins models cannot explain the cosmos. Science textbooks, programs, and other media tell us that we 'know' the Universe formed all by itself billions of years ago in a Big Bang event, with no Creator being involved. Despite these claims, the planets, stars, and galaxies we see contradict secular expectations. According to secular models, many of these objects shouldn't exist at all -- yet there they are. In this presentation, full of beautiful photographs from NASA and other sources, you'll discover that the Universe is consistent with Biblical creation. Rather than supporting secular models, the heavens declare the glory of God!

Defeating Atheism with Science - Spike Psarris

Spike Psarris
March 20, 2014
Apologetics Symposium
Cedar Park Church Bothell, WA 98011
Download Poster/Flier (PDF or DOC)

Description:
Many atheists claim that science disproves the Bible. Despite these claims, science is actually quite consistent with Scripture.

Christians often feel unequipped to defend their faith in this area -- but this need not be so. Instead, any Christian can defend his or her faith against any scientific claim from an atheist, even without knowing the details of that particular claim. Why? Because science Spike Psarrisitself disproves atheism.

Atheism, when taken to its logical conclusion, denies the fundamental assumptions and requirements of science. Therefore, if science is valid, then atheism must be false.

In this presentation, engineer and former atheist Spike Psarris will present on "Defeating Atheism with Science," showing why this is true. Join us as we discuss how Christians can defend their faith in all areas of science. After a brief discussion of specific evidence like fossils, radiometric dating, and intelligent design, we'll dig deeper and see how science itself disproves atheism. Understanding a few fundamental ideas about science are all that's necessary for any Christian to be well-equipped in this area.
About the Speaker:
Spike Psarris was previously an engineer in the United States' military space program. He entered that program as an atheist and an evolutionist. He left it as a creationist and a Christian. He now speaks on creation and Christian apologetics, equipping believers to defend their faith and glorify their Creator.Purchase Spike's DVDs.

Astronomy, the Big Bang and Comets - Dr. Danny Faulkner with Mike Riddle

Astronomy and the Big Bang

In this session Mike interviews Dr. Danny Faulkner (Ph.D. Astronomy) from Answers in Genesis. Dr. Faulkner answers many questions that Christians need to understand about the Big Bang which includes: "Is the Big Bang compatible with the Bible?", "How scientific is the Big Bang?", "What are some of the major problems with the Big Bang?", and why we should start with the Bible, which has never changed, as our authority.

Astronomy and Comets

In this video Danny Faulkner (Ph.D. Astronomy) answers the following questions.
  • What are comets?
  • What makes up a comet?
  • How do comets differ from meteors?
  • How fast do comets travel?
  • Why are comets good evidence for a young earth and solar system?
Dr. Faulkner concludes by addressing the issue of star formation and why stars do not form by naturalistic processes.

Oh, My Stars! - Creation Today

Oh, My Stars! Season 3 Episode 18

Big Bang theorists suggest it is possible to see stars being born in the so-called ‘star forming regions’. In this episode, Eric and Paul deconstruct an article on star formation using the ‘fuzzy words analysis’ method. After removing what the author believes is taking place, there is little real science remaining. Watch how easy it is for you to uncover the faith-based statements masquerading as science in this week’s episode of Creation Today.

The Big Bang Never Happened - Spike Psarris

Description:

We're told that our Universe formed in a Big Bang event, about 14 billion years ago. Science programs, textbooks, and other media claim that there's lots of evidence for this. But is this true? In this presentation, we'll examine the Big Bang theory. We'll see that it not only lacks solid evidence, it also contradicts several important laws of science. Overall we'll see that the Big Bang is not a good scientific model. Instead, it has all the characteristics of a religious belief system for atheists -- one that is believed in spite of the evidence, because the alternative (Biblical Creation) implies accountability to a Creator.

About the Speaker:

Spike PsarrisSpike Psarris has a Bachelor's of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Massachusetts, and has done graduate work in Physics. For a number of years, he was an engineer in the U.S. military space program. He went into the U.S. military space program as an atheist and committed evolutionist, and came out of it as a young-earth creationist and Christian. (CreationAstronomy.com)

Hugh Ross

Hugh Ross launched his career at age seven when he went to the library to find out why stars are hot. Physics and astronomy captured his curiosity and never let go. At age seventeen he became the youngest person ever to serve as director of observations for Vancouver's Royal Astronomical Society. With the help of a provincial scholarship and a National Research Council (NRC) of Canada fellowship, he completed his undergraduate degree in physics (University of British Columbia) and graduate degrees in astronomy (University of Toronto). The NRC also sent him to the United States for postdoctoral studies. At Caltech he researched quasi-stellar objects, or "quasars," some of the most distant and ancient objects in the universe.

Not all of Hugh's discoveries involved astrophysics. Prompted by curiosity, he studied the world’s religions and "holy books" and found only one book that proved scientifically and historically accurate: the Bible. Hugh started at religious "ground zero" and through scientific and historical reality-testing became convinced that the Bible is truly the Word of God! When he went on to describe for others his journey to faith in Jesus Christ, he was surprised to discover how many people believed or disbelieved without checking the evidence.

Hugh's unshakable confidence that God's revelations in Scripture and nature do not, will not, and cannot contradict became his unique message. Wholeheartedly encouraged by family and friends, communicating that message as broadly and clearly as possible became his mission. Thus, in 1986, he founded science-faith think tank Reasons to Believe (RTB). He and his colleagues at RTB keep tabs on the frontiers of research to share with scientists and nonscientists alike the thrilling news of what's being discovered and how it connects with biblical theology. In this realm, he has written many books, including: The Fingerprint of God, The Creator and the Cosmos, Beyond the Cosmos, A Matter of Days, Creation as Science, Why the Universe Is the Way It Is, and More Than a Theory.
Between writing books and articles, recording podcasts, and taking interviews, Hugh travels the world challenging students and faculty, churches and professional groups, to consider what they believe and why. He presents a persuasive case for Christianity without applying pressure. Because he treats people's questions and comments with respect, he is in great demand as a speaker and as a talk-radio and television guest.

Having grown up amid the splendor of Canada's mountains, wildlife, and waterways, Hugh loves the outdoors. Hiking, trail running, and photography are among his favorite recreational pursuits - in addition to stargazing. Hugh lives in Southern California with his wife, Kathy, and two sons.

Can a Biblical Creationist Make Sense of Astronomy | Creation Today with David Rives

Paul Taylor and Eric Hovind of Creation Today welcome guest David Rives of davidrivesministries.org as they discuss how distant starlight can reach the Earth in 6,000 years, the significance of “red shift” and whether or not we see stars forming today.

About David Rives:

In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth…

The Alpha and Omega left a pattern of His fingerprints across each corner of the universe, found even in the tiniest crevices of our planet. A pattern that David Rives has devoted his life to finding and sharing… often defying the conventions of modern science.

In a culture of those who make sweeping statements, point fingers, or avoid controversy altogether, David has made bold assertions and fortified them through empirical research from the Earth to the furthest corners of heaven.

With a unique combination of creation, Biblical astronomy and archaeology, David has built a solid case for our Creator and Savior, Jesus Christ–and the world is taking notice.

David is deeply involved with historical and archaeological research, and his work on Dead Sea Scrolls projects have been featured on the History Channel, not to mention his countless appearances on other media outlets around the world. After eleven trips to the Holy Land and extensive work with observatory class telescopes, a steady following has emerged, as many tune in faithfully for his weekly video commentary on WorldNetDaily.

A songwriter and recording artist as well, the addition of creativity to traditional scientific findings truly puts David in a league all his own. Around the world, he has shared his compelling message through documentaries, music, photography and lectures.

Without intimidation, David is committed to spreading the truth of the Ultimate Creator: “The Bible is true from beginning to end. If you compromise on the very first verse of the Bible, then what next? Will we still believe that Jesus Christ died for our sins and was raised again? Everything comes into question when you begin questioning the very foundation of scripture: In the beginning, God created.” –David Rives

Just as the heavens declare the glory of God, David Rives is proclaiming the manifest presence of God throughout the universe, throughout our world and most especially in the hearts of those who know Him.

The Distant Starlight Dilemma - Dr. Jim Mason | 2012 Creation Superconference

How are we able to see starlight from distant objects, lightyears away, if the earth is only 6000 years old?
Dr. Mason explains why light years are not a problem for a "recent" creation.

Dr Jim Mason

Biography

Jim has a B.Sc. in Engineering Physics from Queen’s University, Kingston, Ontario, Canada and a Ph.D. in experimental Nuclear Physics from McMaster University, Hamilton, Ontario Canada (under Dr M.W. (Martin) Johns, then Head of the Physics Department).

After a year on the faculty of the Physics Department at the University of Windsor, Windsor, Ontario, Canada immediately following completion of his Ph.D. studies, he took a job with one of Canada’s major defence electronics system integration companies where he worked for 37 years. The first 20 years he spent developing passive and active sonar systems for shipborne, airborne and fixed applications that are in use with the Canadian, Portuguese, Belgian, Swedish and US Navies. The subsequent 17 years he spent developing integrated, secure, digital voice and data ground mobile tactical communications systems that are used by the Canadian and British armies. During his career, Jim held positions in software engineering, system engineering, program management and line management, including VP Engineering and Chief Technology Officer responsible for research and development. He served for several years on the company’s Executive Committee.

Jim grew up attending church regularly in a mainline Protestant denomination, reaching high school graduation without ever hearing the message of salvation and left the church and the faith when he took Geology 101 in first year engineering. Although he and his family resumed church attendance (in another mainline Protestant denomination) because he and his wife thought it would be good for their two young girls, it wasn’t until almost his 40th birthday that he heard the message of salvation when attending an evangelical church in response to the invitation of a friend and neighbour and subsequently accepted Christ.

However, Jim was initially what might be called a bi-polar Christian, believing in the salvation provided by Jesus but also believing in the evolutionary account of origins, the big bang, etc. It wasn’t until he attended a weekend seminar conducted by young-earth creation scientists where he saw that science and scripture were completely coherent. Since that time, largely as a result of information available from CMI, he has become increasingly amazed at how the truth of scripture is confirmed in every area of science and become increasingly concerned about how evolution is used as a means to avoid confronting the claims of Jesus.

Since retiring, he has felt called to use his scientific background to show others that the Bible is believable from first verse to last. Before joining CMI, he gave presentations on the creation-evolution issue to the College and Career groups at two local churches and facilitated a multi-week discussion group on the topic at the church he attends.

Dr Mason’s hobbies include skiing (downhill and cross-country), gardening/landscaping, renovations, and spending time with his two grandchildren. He and his wife Rosemary have three children and reside just outside Lakefield, Ontario near their two granddaughters.

Starlight and Time Revisited - Dr. Russell Humphreys with Dr. John Baumgardner

Dr. Russell Humphreys, along with Dr. John Baumgardner, further develop the creation cosmology, first described in the "Starlight and Time" book and video, having a basis in scripture and Einstein's theory of relativity to explain how distant starlight could reach the earth from the depths of space during the six days of creation week.

John Baumgardner, Ph.D.

Biography

John Baumgardner was working on a Ph.D. in electrical engineering when he discovered the reality of Jesus in a dramatic way through a group Bible study of the Gospel of John. After a four-year tour of duty at the Air Force Weapons Laboratory, where he was engaged in gas dynamic laser research, he joined the staff of Campus Crusade for Christ. Observing the deliberate use of evolution to assault and destroy the faith of Christian college students, Dr Baumgardner began to develop and present classroom lectures and evening forums to expose evolution’s false claims.

Upon realizing that Noah’s Flood involved a planetary-scale tectonic catastrophe, he left Campus Crusade to begin a Ph.D. program in geophysics at UCLA in order to obtain the expertise and John Baumgardner, Ph.D.credentials to address the problem of the mechanism of the Genesis Flood at a professional scientific level. His Ph.D. thesis research involved the development of a 3-D spherical-shell finite-element model for the earth’s mantle, a program now known as TERRA.

Upon completing his Ph.D. in geophysics and space physics, he accepted a position as a staff scientist in the Theoretical Division at Los Alamos National Laboratory, where he continued his research in planetary mantle dynamics, including the potential for catastrophic mantle overturn. He presented his work describing this mechanism for the Genesis Flood, now known as ‘catastrophic plate tectonics,’ at six International Conferences on Creationism held in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Dr Baumgardner’s technical work at Los Alamos included development of a new global ocean model for investigating climate change. He served as a member of the Radioisotopes and the Age of the Earth (RATE) team and led the RATE research effort on carbon-14. He retired from Los Alamos in 2004 and joined the Institute for Creation Research in 2005 where he helped develop a state-of-the-art computer program named Mendel’s Accountant for modeling of the processes of mutation and natural selection. In 2008 he joined Logos Research Associates, a collaborative network of Christian research scientists whose focus is origins and earth history issues from a Biblical perspective.

Starlight and Time - Dr. Russell Humphreys

Many people naturally think that since stars are billions of light-years away this is an obvious refutation to the young Earth creation view. Not so. Dr. Humphreys not only provides a biblically and scientifically sound theory he also provides some excellent evidence to support his theory. Learn how practical physics using Einstein's relativity explains how light could be seen on Earth during Creation week.

D. Russell Humphreys, Ph.D.

Creationist physicist

Biography

Dr Humphreys was born on 2 February 1942 in Wyandotte, Michigan, U.S.A., and was raised in a scientifically aware but non–Christian household. Not surprisingly, Russell himself always had a love for science, and in 1959, he was one of the 40 winners of the Westinghouse National Science Talent Search.

He received a B.S. degree in physics at Duke University, 1959–1963. After this, he moved to Louisiana State University (LSU) to study postgraduate physics. In 1969, while doing his dissertation research for LSU in the mountains of Colorado, he committed his life to Christ. In 1972, he was awarded a Ph.D. in physics, on cosmic rays and ultrahigh energy nucleon–nucleon interactions, by which time he was a fully convinced creationist due to both the biblical and scientific evidence. For the next 6 years he worked in the High Voltage Laboratory of General Electric Company, designing and inventing equipment and researching high–voltage phenomena. While there, he received a U.S. patent and one of Industrial Research Magazine’s IR–100 awards.

Dr Humphreys has been married since 1963, and they have three children.

Research

Beginning in 1979 he worked for Sandia National Laboratories (New Mexico) in nuclear physics, geophysics, pulsed-power research, and theoretical atomic and nuclear physics. In 1985, he began working with Sandia’s ‘Particle Beam Fusion Project’, and was co-inventor of special laser-triggered ‘Rimfire’ high-voltage switches, now coming into wider use.

The last decade at Sandia saw greater emphasis on theoretical nuclear physics and radiation hydrodynamics in an effort to help produce the world’s first lab–scale thermonuclear fusion. Besides gaining two other U.S. patents, Dr Humphreys has been given two awards from Sandia, including an Award for Excellence for contributions to light ion–fusion target theory.
Overall, Dr Humphreys’ reseach has been very wide-ranging:
  • Designed and theoretically analyzed thermonuclear fusion targets using radiation hydrodynamic codes.
  • Designed key high-voltage parts of Sandia’s 100-Terawatt Particle Beam Fusion Accelerator II and conducted fusion power experiments on it. Same designs are in use today on Sandia’s Z machine.
  • Research on low-temperature solids and studies on superconductors.
  • Nuclear weapons projects, including stockpile engineering for W87 firing set.
  • Helped design new inkjet printer component and shared patent on it.
  • Developed high repetition-rate neutron tube driver and gamma-ray spectrometer for borehole logging applications. Patent on high-voltage power supply for it.
  • Patents on wide-bandwidth electric field sensor and high-voltage neutron tube supply. Designed lightning current waveform recorder which won IR-100 Award.
  • Studied electric fields and ion currents under ultrahigh voltage DC transmission lines.
  • Theoretical studies of relativistic velocity dependence of nuclear forces.

Creationist work full-time

Dr Humphreys retired from Sandia in 2001 to work full-time for the Institute for Creation Research (ICR) where he was appointed an Associate Professor of Physics. In this time, he operated mainly from his home office in Albuquerque, NM, USA, while still continuing to write for Journal of Creation (formerly TJ) and assisting several other creationist organisations with questions and information concerning physics, astronomy and cosmology.

In August 2008 he resigned from ICR and now works as an independent researcher.
Dr Humphreys has been a longtime member of the Creation Research Society and is on its Board of Directors.

Why Do We Need a Big Picture of the Old Testament? - Creation Today with Jay Seegert

Why Do We Need a Big Picture of the Old Testament?

Paul and Eric welcome back guest Jay Seegert to discuss the importance of connecting the historical “stories” of the Old Testament to Christ’s death on the cross, as well as problems with the Big Bang Theory.

Bye-Bye, Big Bang | Creation Magazine Live

    Description

One of the pillars of the Big Bang theory is that the light we see from objects far away has a higher redshift than closer objects. However, quasars with a very high redshift have been discovered in and near galaxies that have a low redshift. Richard Fangrad and Calvin Smith explain what this means for the Big Bang.

    Creation Astronomy - Chris Ashcraft

    Part 1

by Chris Ashcraft M.S., M.Ed., MTMS.

Chris W. AshcraftThis 2-part seminar by Chris Ashcraft was recorded at a meeting of the Creation Association of Puget Sound on June 9th &11th 2006.

    Description:
This presentation was designed to provide a general overview of creation astronomy / cosmology, and highlights important players and resources for future study.

The first half of the seminar takes a look at the purpose of the celestial bodies, and provides the Biblical foundation and physical proof for a young universe. The second half analyzes Big Bang cosmology and presents evidence which argues against this ideology, and shows how the data instead supports a creation cosmology. It is asserted that the Big Bang is inconsistent with the Biblical creation, and the Earth occupies a special place at the center of the cosmos.

    Topics Include:
    • Design and Purpose
Cosmos – When, Why, & How?
      Anthropic Principle
    • Evidence of young age
      Recession of the moon
      Comets
      Age of the sun
      Supernova remnants
    • Creation Cosmology vs. Big Bang
      Origin of Stars
      Origin of Planets
      Origin of Galaxies
      Redshift and Cosmology
      Resolving Distant Starlight
    • Concluding Comments

Universe by Design - Dr. Danny Faulkner - Creation Super Conference 2011

Universe by Design—Big Bang or Big God? (Part 1)

For more than 40 years the big bang theory has been the dominant model of the origin of the universe. Can this theory be reconciled with the Bible? How well does it fit the observational data? Does the big bang qualify as a scientific theory?

Universe by Design—Part 2 Comets and the Age of the Solar System

Comets are astonishing objects, and our understanding of comets has changed tremendously over the years. We know that individual comets have lifetimes far less than billions of years, so their existence suggests that the solar system is much younger than generally thought. We will examine some of the responses that evolutionary scientists have for this problem.
