Dr. Charles Jackson has four degrees in science and education (EdD Sci Ed, Univ of VA, 1994; MS Enviro Bio, George Mason Univ; MEd Sci Ed, GMU; BS Bio, GMU). From 1980 to 2002, he taught secondary school sciences 11 years, then college biology and chemistry 6 years, and then teacher education classes 6 yrs in VA, MD, VT and TN. In 2003, Dr. Jackson founded Points of Origins Ministries and began teaching, speaking, and debating in creation science education. His emphasis has been in making the case for the literal interpretation of the Scriptural accounts as being both scientifically and historically true, and indeed eminently superior in their accuracy, compared to secular sources referencing the same topics. As a former youth pastor and schoolteacher, the work of “Dr. J” has been primarily focused toward Christian youth. Keenly interested in the liberation of Bible-believing college students, from the delusion that their faith has been refuted by modern scientific understandings, Dr. J has crusaded against evolutionary dogma on college campuses across the mainland United States, and also in Venezuela and Peru. For their November 14, 2014 meeting, Rocky Mountain Creation Fellowship hosted noted author Spike Psarris, who has published articles on astronomy in Creation Magazine and CMI's Technical Journal. Spike was previously an engineer in the United States' military space program. He entered that program as an atheist and an evolutionist. He left it as a creationist and a Christian.

Spike Psarris has a Bachelor's of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Massachusetts, and has done graduate work in Physics. For a number of years, he was an engineer in the U.S. military space program. I
identify a little-noticed issue in the normal formulation of the light
travel time problem. In addition, I lay groundwork for the beginning of a
new solution to the problem. This solution invokes similarity between
creative acts of Day Four and other days of the Creation Week, but
especially Day Three. The Day Three account suggests unusually fast
growth for plants. In similar fashion, this possible new solution
suggests unusually fast propagation of light on Day Four, probably by
rapid expansion of space. This is an appeal to a miraculous event rather
than a physical process to get distant starlight to the earth. It is
not yet clear whether this suggestion could have testable predictions.
If this is the correct way to look at the problem, it may be that we are
seeing much of the universe in something close to real time. I briefly
compare this possible solution to the light travel time to other
previously published proposals.
Hugh Ross launched his career at age seven when he went to the
library to find out why stars are hot. Physics and astronomy captured
his curiosity and never let go. At age seventeen he became the youngest
person ever to serve as director of observations for Vancouver's Royal
Astronomical Society. With the help of a provincial scholarship and a
National Research Council (NRC) of Canada fellowship, he completed his
undergraduate degree in physics (University of British Columbia) and
graduate degrees in astronomy (University of Toronto). The NRC also sent
him to the United States for postdoctoral studies. At Caltech he
researched quasi-stellar objects, or "quasars," some of the most distant
and ancient objects in the universe.
Science has demonstrated that there are "laws" which govern our universe. In contrast to unobservable models, laws are verified by repeatable experiments. As an example, consider the laws of Thermodynamics, undoubtedly scientific laws. While many are unfamiliar with the terminology, all are very familiar with the effects experienced every day. These laws appear to be direct predictions the creation model but provide serious challenges to evolutionary theories. Simplistic and fallacious arguments have been made on both sides but when properly applied, significant light is shed on the study of origins.
