The Impossible Problem of the Origin of Life - Dr. Don Batten

People all over the world are taught that everything in nature—including life itself—is the result of purely natural processes. Is this right? Did life form itself? Is that even possible? What would it take? What ingredients would the simplest, self-replicating life need? Or are people being misled—in the name of ‘science’? Join biologist Dr Don Batten for a discussion of the origin of life. Learn why the very laws of chemistry dictate that life could never form itself—not even in a trillion years! ⏳ TIMESTAMPS ⌛ 00:00 Teaser 00:27 Introduction: The impossible problem of the origin of life 01:54 What ingredients do we need to form life? 02:14 → Amino acids 03:18 → Sugars 03:46 → Nucleic acids (DNA & RNA) 04:10 → Lipids 05:03 Problem: The ingredients don’t play well together! 05:11 → The conditions needed for amino acids are the wrong conditions for sugars 05:41 → Necessary metallic ions wreak havoc with necessary lipids 06:33 → High energy compounds (e.g. lipids) are unlikely to form in the same ‘soup’ as low energy compounds (e.g. sugars) 06:54 Problem: Chirality (or ‘handedness’) – Amino acids must only be left-handed, sugars must only be right-handed 09:01 Problem: The origin of coded information (DNA) in living things 09:36 → How could an encoding/decoding system arise by chance? 10:59 → The genetic code is optimised – and that's not possible without pre-planning 11:28 → The sheer volume of genetic information needed for the ‘simplest’ life is overwhelming 13:15 → Multiple, complex cellular ‘machines’ are needed for the information system to work at all 14:04 Would Darwin be a Darwinist today? 14:46 Problem: Probability shows the impossibility of the chance origin of even a single protein 19:10 Solution: How did life come about? 19:26 → The need for a super intelligent Designer 21:03 → Why is this such an unpopular conclusion? 21:24 Why should the Designer be the God of the Bible? 22:32 Where to get more information on origin-of-life problems ✍️ LINKS AND SHOW NOTES • Origin of Life – https://creation.com/origin-of-life • 15 loopholes in the evolutionary theory of the origin of life – https://creation.com/loopholes-in-the... • Origin of Life Q&A – https://creation.com/origin-of-life-q... • Why the Miller–Urey research argues against abiogenesis – https://creation.com/why-the-miller-u... • Origin of First Life: Chemical Evolution vs Real Chemistry –    • Origin of First Life: Chemical Evolut...   • Would Darwin be a Darwinist today? – https://creation.com/would-darwin-be-... 📚 HELPFUL RESOURCES • The Stairway to Life (book) – https://creation.com/s/10-2-671 • Chemicals to Living Cells (streaming video) – https://creation.com/s/35-8-530 • Evolution Impossible (book) – https://creation.com/s/10-2-643 • An Industrial Chemist's Origin of Life Cookbook (audio) – https://creation.com/s/35-1-033 💙 SOCIAL MEDIA ► Facebook:   / creationministries   ► TikTok:   / creationministries   ► Instagram:   / creationministries   ► X / Twitter:   / creationnews   ► eNewsletter: https://creation.com/infobytes 📅 EVENTS We present at hundreds of events around the world each year. A New Theory for the Pre-Flood Canopy - Dr. Edward Boudreaux

Presented by Rocky Mtn Creation Fellowship President, Dr. Ed Boudreaux, who is a well-known creation scientist and apologist. Edward Boudreaux received his M.S. and Ph.D degrees in Chemistry 1959 and 1962 respectively, from Tulane University, New Orleans, LA. He joined the  U. of New Orleans chemistry faculty in 1962, where he was involved in graduate and undergraduate education and basic research until his coerced retirement 1991 (because of exposure as a creationist). Dr. Boudreaux's fields of expertise are Quantum Chemistry and Chemical Physics, in which he has published numerous papers in various scientific periodicals, a number of reviews and contributed chapters, plus four books. He has delivered countless technical presentations at conferences, symposia and professional meetings, nationally and internationally. Dr Boudreaux has been included in listings published by a number of professional indices (Who's Who in Science, etc.).

Ed became a creation scientist in 1975 and shortly thereafter was an expert witness before the Louisiana Senate and U.S. Supreme Court regarding the Balanced Treatment Law for Louisiana schools. He has given numerous presentations and been in debates before live audiences, on radio and TV. He is one of 50 creation scientists featured in the books In Six Days and The God Factor, by J. F. Ashton, 2001. He has given technical papers at three International Conferences on Creationism, which were published in those proceedings. Most recently, he was co-author with Eric Baxter of the book God Created the Earth.

God Created the Earth Hardcover – January 1, 2012

It may be concluded that from the analysis of the select number of radioisotopes addressed in this study, plus other references cited, it seems evident that decay rates of radioisotopes would have been greatly accelerated during the first couple of days of creation week.

Dr. Edward A. Boudreaux is Professor Emeritus of Chemistry at the University of New Orleans, Louisiana. He holds a B.S. in chemistry from Loyola University, an M.S. in chemistry and a Ph.D. in chemistry from Tulane University. His book, God Created the Earth, is a challenging read, as there are many technical formulas, but it is encouraging to read words like these on page 57: "...radiometric decay rates are accelerated by enormous magnitudes at high plasma temperatures. This is precisely the basis for the model postulated in Part II of this book, from which computed results are derived."

Application? The evolutionary assumption that decay rates are constant is thus challenged, and the here is one scientific explanation for how we could get radiometric dates that seem out-of-accord with biblical chronology.

Ten pages later, we read: "It may be concluded that from the analysis of the select number of radioisotopes addressed in this study, plus other references cited, it seems evident that decay rates of radioisotopes would have been greatly accelerated during the first couple of days of creation week."

In other words, you do not have to reject the Bible because supposedly "science" has disproved the chronology of the Bible. It has not. In fact, there are 50 other reasons for trusting the Bible's chronology by getting the free booklet, Reasons to Affirm a Young Earth. It is available free on the Internet. Let God be found true and every man in rebellion against Him be found lying.

Research overview

My main interest is in free radicals and the development of organic syntheses and novel materials based on these species. Early work was concerned with the addition of free radicals to alkenes. Currently, my research centres in (a)the development of free radical synthetic methods based on derivatives of cyclohexa-1,4-diene-3-carboxylates, on oxime oxalate amides, and on dioxime oxalates. These methods all show promise as replacements for toxic organotin hydrides. In addition my research group is developing methods for the stereocontrol of ring closure reactions involving coupling of radicals with anions.(b) Studies of radical structures and reactions:Electron paramagnetic resonance spectroscopy has been successfully applied to a study of the structures and rearrangement modes of highly strained polycyclic radicals, of carbamoyl radicals (aminoacyl radicals) iminyl and many other radicals.

Creation / Evolution Debate 09 - Dr. Hovind vs Dr. Karen Bartelt (PhD in Biochemistry)

by Creation Today

Dr. Dr. Karen Bartelt of Eureka College, IL, Ph.D. in biochemistry and outspoken evolutionist, tries to show that evolution is scientific. Because so many topics left unanswered questions, we have added post-debate comments by Dr. Hovind. Many said that this debate delivered the most lively exchange they have witnessed.

Scientific Case for the Origin of Life - Mike Riddle

Mike puts the evolution theory to shame, clearly showing the "impossibility of the odds." Visit Mike's Equipping and Training Christians Ministry - train2equip.com

  • There are over 2,000 types of amino acids and only 20 are used in life. Every experiment we have ever done has always ended up with an equal number of left handed and right handed amino acids. A mixture of left handed and right handed amino acids is a poison to life. Each body is full of only left handed amino acids. The tendency is always to bond the two and continue away from life; not toward life. Evolution has ruled out the truth of a Creator God, so evolutionists will accept anything in the place of the truth of God. In essence, evolutionists are saying that 3 plus 1 equals 7 because the real answer, in this case 4, is "too religious for them."
  •  One cell in our body is more complex than any computer we have ever built. Is it logical to conclude that a cell could evolve from natural processes? "Give it enough time and it will happen" is not a scientific statement. It is a faith-based statement. It is saying that they don't know what happened, but if we give it enough time, then something will happen. Scientists affirm that the law of probability states if the chances of something happening is over 10 to the 50th power, then it will "never" happen. The chances are 10 to the 191st power that a single protein can occur by random chance. The chances of a single cell forming by random chance is 10 to the 40,000th power! To say that life could evolve from nothing defies science and logic.
  •  A person can believe in evolution, but not because of the science. A person believes in evolution because of their belief system.
  •  Anything that violates the 2nd Law of Thermodynamics could never happen. It states, "Energy goes from a usable to less usable state over time in an isolated system." An open system is any system where you can add and remove energy. The Earth is an open system and so is nearly everything else we know. An isolated system is one where no matter or energy can get in or out. The universe is an isolated system.
Four Required Conditions for Evolution
  1. An open system (earth)
  2. Available energy source (sun)
  3. A way to capture and store raw energy
  4. Energy conversion mechanism
  •  We are all decaying. We began this decay at conception.
  •  Where did the immense amount of DNA come from? The only tenable answer is in Genesis 1.

Things Detrimental to the Origin of Life
 1) Oxygen in the atmosphere
 2) Second Law of Thermodynamics (time)
 3) Water (hydrolysis)

If I tell you only part of the evidence and you believe it, you have not been taught, you have been indoctrinated. If I tell you all the evidence and you make a decision, then you have been taught.

Congress has said that we can teach both sides (e.g. evolutionism and creation). However, other agencies have tried to take away this right and scare creationists into being silent.

No scientist on this planet can tell you how life originated. Why should we accept evolution when you cannot produce the evidence? When evolutionists tell us about their faith, creationists should tell them about our faith. Evolution has no foundation for the origin of information.

The Devastation of Evolution - Chirality (Evolution is a "Catastrophic Failure")

Read Charles McCombs, Ph.D. detailed article, Evolution Hopes You Don't Know Chemistry: The Problem with Chirality

This video and the article show the absolute impossibility that life could have arose from non-life. The video also shows how the Miller/Urey experiment, which created life from non-life in the lab according to the media, was a failure.

Dr. Charles McCombs, Ph.D. is a chemist and a Christian apologist. He holds two degrees: A Ph.D. in organic chemistry from UCLA, and a B.S. in chemistry from CSULB. Dr. McCombs uses his passion for chemistry to educate others, show proof that God created everything, and to further the kingdom of God.
