Raymond G. Bohlin is Vice President of Vision Outreach with Probe Ministries. Dr. Bohlin was born and raised in Chicago, IL and is a graduate of the University of Illinois (B.S., zoology, 1971-1975), the University of North Texas (M.S., population genetics, 1977-1980), and the University of Texas at Dallas (M.S., Ph.D., molecular and cell biology, 1984-1991). He has been with Probe Ministries since 1975 and has lectured and debated on dozens of college and university campuses. He has addressed issues in the creation/evolution debate as well as other science-related issues such as the environment, genetic engineering, medical ethics, and sexually transmitted diseases. Dr. Bohlin was named a Research Fellow of the Discovery Institute's Center for the Renewal of Science and Culture in 1997, 2000 and 2012. He and his wife Sue, an associate speaker and Webmistress for Probe Ministries as well as a professional calligrapher and Christian speaker, live in Plano, Texas, a suburb of Dallas, and they have two grown sons. In 1859, Charles Darwin published On the Origin of Species. In it, he argued that all of life on earth was the product of undirected natural processes: Time, chance, and natural selection. Since Darwin, biologists have relied on such processes to account for the origin of living things. Yet today, this approach is being challenged as never before.

Unlocking the Mystery of Life tells the story of contemporary scientists who are advancing a powerful but controversial idea—the theory of intelligent design.

Unlocking is the product of more than three years of research, photography, and post production. Based upon the scholarly work of Stephen C. Meyer, Michael Behe, William Dembski and others, this documentary presents the scientific case for intelligent design based upon recent discoveries in biochemistry, genetics, and molecular biology.

The film was photographed throughout the United States in 2001 and 2002. Location photography also took place in the Galapagos Islands at the site of Charles Darwin’s seminal 1835 expedition.
Unlocking is highlighted by computer animation that depicts the inner-workings of the living cell. Animator Tim Doherty created sequences illustrating the structure and operations of the cell nucleus, the DNA molecule, protein molecules, and the bacterial flagellar motor.

After its release is September 2003, Unlocking the Mystery of Life aired on PBS. The show was broadcast on more than 40 affiliates throughout the United States. The cancellation of a scheduled broadcast on station KNME in Albequerque, New Mexico triggered national news coverage and a debate over PBS programming decisions.

Unlocking the Mystery of Life has been translated into more than 25 languages including Russian, Mandarin, and Spanish. It is distributed throughout Asia, Europe, South America, Australia, Canada, and the United States. North American distribution is supervised by Randolf Productions International.

In addition to the 67-minute feature documentary, the English DVD version includes almost an hour of bonus features.

THE PRIVILEGED PLANET, utilizing stunning computer animation, interviews with leading scientists, and spectacular images of Earth and the cosmos, explores a startling connection between our capacity to survive and our ability to observe and understand the universe. About the Speaker:

Dr. Jonathan Sarfati is a research scientist and speaker with Creation Ministries International (creation.com). He was born in Ararat, Australia in 1964. He moved to New Zealand as a child and later studied science at Victoria University of Wellington. He obtained a B.Sc. (Hons.) in Chemistry with two physics papers substituted (nuclear and condensed matter physics). His Ph.D. in Chemistry was awarded for a thesis entitled 'A Spectroscopic Study of some Chalcogenide Ring and Cage Molecules'. He has co-authored papers in mainstream scientific journals on high temperature superconductors and selenium-containing ring and cage-shaped molecules. He also had a co-authored paper on high-temperature superconductors published in Nature when he was 22.

An Update on Noah's Flood - Dr. John Morris

At RMCF's September 13 meeting,  Dr. John Morris, President of the Institute of Creation Research  presented a seminar on the obvious reasons the flood of Genesis had to be global and scientific findings related to its occurrence.

Dr. Morris, perhaps best known for leading expeditions to Mt. Ararat in search of Noah's Ark, received his Doctorate in Geological Engineering at the University of Oklahoma in 1980.

He taught on the University of Oklahoma faculty before joining the ICR in 1984, serving as Professor of Geology before being appointed President in 1996. He travels widely speaking at churches, conferences, and scientific meetings. Dr. Morris has written numerous books and articles on the scientific evidence that supports the Bible, including The Young Earth, The Fossil Record, and The Global Flood. It is indeed a privilege to have Dr. Morris Come to Denver to speak to us.

Help safeguard your teens from being part of the 70% of our youth who walk away from the church after high school.

As we grow and equip the next generation of believers, we must remember, they will become the youth leaders, small group leaders, church planters, pastors, and Christian school teachers, who will, in turn, begin equipping the next generation. David Barton, founder and president of WallBuilders, a national pro-family organization that presents America's forgotten history and heroes, states the importance of equipping our youth.

"It [the Bible] is the story of history that God uses the younger generation to revive and restore a nation that has fallen away (David, Daniel, Samuel, etc.). Therefore, the enemy often works to destroy youth before they can fulfill that destiny (e.g. the eradication of children by Pharaoh or Herod to destroy Moses and Jesus). It is no surprise, then, that today's cultural terrorists have targeted youth for spiritual destruction (through music, entertainment, education, technology, etc.)."

Mike's talk "Battle Cry for the Next Generation" is a wake-up call for parents. It discusses America's biblical heritage, how we have abandoned that heritage, and how we can turn the situation around. In this seminar, Mike clearly lays out the situation, the mission, and the plan of execution. The goal of the seminar is to:

1) Inform Christians about the state of American education.
2) Provide a strategy, a direction to advance, and a solution.
3) Discuss how to support the vision of training and equipping the next generation.

He is also an adjunct apologetics speaker for Answers in Genesis. He holds a degree in mathematics and a graduate degree in education and has been involved in creation ministry for more than thirty years. Prior to getting involved in creation ministry, Mike was a captain in the U.S. Marines and a national champion in track and field.

Bill Nye has become the “evangelism” guy – at least in terms of proselytizing for atheism. Paul and Eric report on their visit to a presentation by Bill Nye at the University of Florida at Gainsville. Nye’s atheism has nothing of substance to offer the young people, who, nevertheless, lined for a quarter of a mile to get to see their hero. Paul and Eric and a team of helpers had a thousand copies of Ray Comfort’s film “Evolution vs God” to give out. Nye’s worldview, however, is so bankrupt that he claimed that photos of Pluto would “change the world”.

Biblical Science Worldview - Dr. Ron Marks

Dr. Ronald Curtis Marks served as an Elder at Grace Church of Greenville in Greenville, South Carolina, until October 2008. He is currently an Associate Professor of Chemistry at North Greenville University, Tigerville, South Carolina and a member of the American Chemical Society and Creation Research Society. Prior to teaching at North Greenville University, Dr. Marks served for twenty years in the U.S. Air Force, where his experience ranged from managing the acquisition of aircraft simulators, to work with chemical and biological counterterrorism and intelligence organizations. While in the Air Force, he spent two separate three-year terms teaching at the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs. During his last assignment there, Ron was in charge of the administration and organization of the General Chemistry program responsible for instruction of over 1,000 students each semester. In addition, Ron is an ordained Elder, Deacon, has served as a Minister of Education in local churches and as a home church pastor. He has served as congregational and choir music leadership, biblical and theological studies teacher and on the Organizational Board and Curriculum Committee for Maryville Christian School, Maryville, Tennessee.

This video shows incredible footage of Edinburgh's Pagan fire festival, which draws over 12,000 people. It also features photos of a government assisted evolution museum that sells books on astrology, tarot, Feng Shui and ghosts. Phil Holden investigates the rise of Paganism in Edinburgh. Edinburgh was at the centre of the Enlightenment movement and was also the city where Charles Darwin was educated. During the Enlightenment in the 18th century, philosophers and scientists agreed that it was unreasonable to consider that God might be a cause of things. Whilst you might expect the result would be a very rational city, it seems the opposite has happened and Edinburgh appears to be one of Europe's most superstitious cities. Whatever your own perspective: Humanist, New Age, Agnostic or religious this video is worth watching.
