Dr. Jason Lisle is a Christian astrophysicist who writes and speaks on various topics relating to science and the defense of the Christian faith.  He graduated summa cum laude from Ohio Wesleyan University where he double-majored in physics and astronomy and minored in mathematics.  He then earned a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in astrophysics at the University of Colorado in Boulder.  Dr. Lisle specialized in solar astrophysics and has made a number of scientific discoveries regarding the solar photosphere, including the detection of giant cell boundaries using the SOHO spacecraft.  He also does theoretical research and has contributed to the field of general relativity.

Since completion of his research at the University of Colorado, Dr. Lisle began working in full-time apologetics ministry, specializing in the defense of Genesis.  He has written a number of articles and books on the topic.  His most well-known book, The Ultimate Proof of Creation, demonstrates that biblical creation is the only logical possibility for origins.  Dr. Lisle wrote and directed the popular planetarium shows at the Creation Museum, including “The Created Cosmos.”  He now works (beginning in April, 2012) as director of research at the Institute for Creation Research.

Biography

Dr Silvestru earned his Ph.D in geology at the ‘Babes-Bolyai’ University in Cluj, Romania (where he has worked as an associate professor), in karst sedimentology including caves. (Karst is a term which initially referred to barren regions of mostly limestone and dolomite, noted for spectacular and distinctive landforms, and with substantial underground drainage features — caves, underground rivers, etc. It has come to refer more to the entire geosystem, above and below ground.)

A world authority on the geology of caves, he has published 41 scientific papers (see below), written one book (The Cave Book—see below) and co-authored two books. He was, until recently, the head scientist at the world’s first Speleological Institute (speleology = the study of caves) in Cluj. Since 1997 he has been a full-time researcher and speaker with CMI.

His areas of expertise include: Sedimentology of clastic deposits, stratigraphy of limestone terranes, general geology, karst genesis and functioning, cave climate and glaciology, show-cave assessment & designing, ore prospecting and exploration (surface and mining).

After becoming a Christian he quickly realized that the ‘millions of years’ interpretation, so common in geology, was not compatible with Genesis. ‘Once I became a Christian,’ Emil says, ‘I knew I had to “tune up” my scientific knowledge with the Scriptures.’

‘Although philosophically and ethically I accepted a literal Genesis from my conversion, at first I was unable to match it with my “technical” side.’

E-mail discussions with qualified creationist geologists, creationist books, Creation magazine and especially the Journal of Creation (formerly TJ) helped him realise what he calls two ‘essential things’:

1. Given exceptional conditions (e.g. the Genesis Flood) geological processes that take an extremely long time today can be unimaginably accelerated.
2. The Genesis Flood was global, not regional.

   ‘These factors were immensely important in my conversion and my Christian life. I am now convinced of six-day, literal, recent, Genesis creation. That doesn't mean that there are not still some unanswered problems, but researching such issues is what being a scientist is all about.’

He has over 30 years experience in climbing and spelunking, educating many young spelunkers and mountain climbing devotees as well as participating in mountain and cave rescue operations.
In January 2002 he immigrated to Canada from Romania with his wife and two daughters. In addition to doing research and writing for CMI, he now also on staff at CMI Canada as a Seminar Lecturer, and has written a number of articles for the Journal of Creation, Creation magazine and this website, and produced several DVDs.

In 2012 Emil suffered a stroke from which he has not yet fully recovered.

Biography

Dominic became a Christian as a student in the early eighties. Over the following years, he became convinced of the need to hold firmly to the Bible as the basis for Christian belief and practice. The Multidimensional Genome - Dr. Robert Carter - Creation Super Conference 2011

The Multidimensional Genome

The human genome is an incredibly complex computer program that operates in at least four dimensions. This includes the 1-D linear string of DNA, the 2-D interactions between different parts of the 1-D string, the 3-D conformation of the DNA in the nucleus, and the changes to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd dimensions over time (making the genome 4-D).

The complexity of the genome was not predicted by evolutionary theorists and their resistance to an increased understanding of this complexity has hindered scientific advancement. Not only that, but the level of complexity, even as currently understood, is extremely difficult for evolution to explain, and our knowledge of this complexity is increasing daily. In The Origin of Species, Darwin famously said, "If it could be demonstrated that any complex organ existed, which could not possibly have been formed by numerous, successive, slight modifications, my theory would absolutely break down."

My challenge to the evolutionist is to explain the origin of the genome using a workable scenario that includes the source of informational changes, an account of the amount of mutation necessary, and a description of the selective forces necessary, all within the proper time frame. I claim the genome could not have arisen through naturalistic processes and, therefore, Darwin's theory absolutely breaks down.

Professional Experience

• Between my undergraduate and graduate work, I spent four years teaching high school science at a large college-prep school in NW Georgia. In addition to my teaching load (including AP biology, chemistry, physics, and electronics), I spent the winter months coaching the swimming and diving teams and the summer months running the outdoor high adventure program.
• In 1996, I was awarded the three-year Maytag doctoral fellowship by the University of Miami. When that expired, I received a one-year fellowship from the Institute for Marine Science. While working on my PhD, I designed and performed many experiments in marine ecology and genetic engineering and helped to develop new protocols for the rapid cloning of fluorescent protein genes. The green and red fluorescent proteins my coworker and I cloned from hard and soft corals were used to create transgenic zebrafish. We patented one of these protein genes and licensed it to Promega, Inc. under the trade name ‘Monster Green’.
• From 2001-2004, I helped design and build an aquaculture facility for Caribbean corals at UM’s Experimental Fish Hatchery. During these years I also performed over 500 research dives on the shallow coral reefs of the Florida Keys and Bahamas. Many of these were done at night to study the mass coral spawning episodes that happen at specific times during the warm summers.
• I spent two years after obtaining my PhD working for an engineering company, mainly focused on impact mitigation for the Key West Harbor dredging project (since the channel runs right through the coral reef).
• Upon leaving Miami, I was hired by the Institute for Creation Research to help on their GENE project. While there, I wrote computer programs to analyze human genetic data and managed to get one publication on this work into the secular literature.
• In 2006, I was hired by Creation Ministries International as a scientist, speaker, and writer.

Dr John Sanford, A Cornell University Professor for more than 25 years, John has been semi-retired since 1998. His Ph.D. was in plant breeding and plant genetics. While a professor at Cornell, John has trained graduate students and conducted genetic research at the New York State Agricultural Experiment Station in Geneva, NY. During this time, John bred new crop varieties using conventional breeding and then became heavily involved in the newly-emerging field of plant genetic engineering. John has published over 80 scientific publications and has been granted over 30 patents. His most significant scientific contributions involve three inventions, the biolistic ("gene gun") process, pathogen-derived resistance, and genetic immunization. A large fraction of the transgenic crops (in terms of numbers and acreage) grown in the world today were genetically engineered using the gene gun technology developed by John and his collaborators. John also started two biotech enterprises derived from his research, Biolistics, Inc., and Sanford Scientific, Inc. John still holds a position at Cornell (Courtesy Associate Professor), but has largely retired from Cornell and has started a small non-profit organization, Feed My Sheep Foundation. How CESM Started 

Though raised in a Christian home, Russ strayed from God during his college years where he was an all-division baseball player. As Russ puts it, "I was on my road to Damascus when, at the age of 30, I felt the Holy Spirit nudging me to return to Him." Russ started attending church and grow as a Believer. Ten years passed as Russ grew in his faith and became a church Trustee, though believing that God had used evolution and millions of years to develop His creation. During this time, he also spent 18 years developing a nationwide management recruiting firm. Then, during the summer of 1998 an event took place that would forever change the fortunes of the Miller family. Russ and his wife, Joanna, obtained video tapes of several Creation speakers.

Russ:"When I saw the overwhelming facts which destroy Darwinism and 'millions of years' beliefs, combined with the facts which support the biblical accounts of creation and the global flood, I realized that I, and billions of others, had been fooled."

Russ began intently studying the Creation-evolution issue, obtaining knowledge from Creation speakers, scientists and even the die-hard Darwinian faithful.

He felt God's calling to do something more important than making money and in December of 2000, Russ gave away his business to a valuable co-worker and began Creation, Evolution & Science Ministries.

Russ's motto is: "You don't have to believe anything I tell you. All I ask is that you look at what I show and weigh it against anything that has you believing in anything other than what the Bible says." For anyone who does so, it is, as Russ says, a "no brainer."

Philosophy

 CESM asks that everyone be presented with the facts, both pros and cons, for both evolution and Creation. We believe that if a person is allowed to weigh all of the evidence the decision to be made will be obvious.

Statement of Faith 

The Biblical God created the heavens, earth, seas and all that in them is during a literal six day time span roughly 6,000 years ago. The original Creation was "very good" until Adam's ORIGINAL SIN let death enter the world. This ORIGINAL SIN separated mankind from God and required a blood sacrifice (eventually Jesus) so man could be redeemed with God. Due to man's sinfulness, God destroyed His Creation via a global flood about 4,400 years ago, sparing Noah and his immediate family. Then, due to mankind's continuing sin, God sent His only begotten Son to suffer and die on a cross - the perfect, sinless, blood sacrifice to cover the sinfulness of all mankind. Anyone who believes in the Biblical Jesus' death, burial, resurrection and ascension to heaven and calls on Him as their Lord and Savior will be forgiven their sins and will spend eternity with Jesus Christ in heaven. Salvation can not be earned but is provided by the grace of God. Jesus will return to reclaim His creation at the time of His final judgment, sparing only those who have called on Him as their Lord. The Bible, both Old and New Testaments as originally given, are the inspired, divine Word of God and are free from error in all matters, including moral, ethical, theological, scientific and historical. God is eternal, omnipotent and triune in character as Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Satan is a deceiver and accuser who will spend eternity in hell where there will be "wailing and gnashing of teeth" for Satan and all those who choose to reject redemption through Jesus.
